Canadian Society of Clinical Chemists (CSCC) Practice Alert: Global Shortages in Laboratory Supplies

Current supply chain disruptions have resulted in global shortages in supplies used by medical laboratories. In February 2022, the CSCC partnered with Choosing Wisely Canada to highlight this issue: “Using Labs Wisely During Global Blood Tube and Other Resource Shortages” (see below). The CSCC has developed a Practice Alert with recommendations that healthcare professionals and providers, as well as laboratory staff, can use in their daily practice to help with the conservation efforts that promote sustainable practices within the healthcare system.
